| Description | This two week camp offers two programs: 1) Mini University (Ages 8-14 years) - Allows campers the chance to experience what it is like to be a real university student * Camp is designed to show that learning can be fun through hands-on activities * Explore the natural world, unravel the mysteries of the human mind, discover your world * Included in the schedule of activities for each day are swimming and outdoor recreation * Please bring your own bathing suit, water bottle, sun block, full shoes (no sandals), lunch * Campers choose one out of 3 modules to participate in for the 2 weeks: Module A: * Go-Go Gadgets * The Super-Human Experience: Bodies, Brains & Everything Else * Plan it, Build it,Test it! * The Wacky World of Chemistry Module B: * Crime Scene Investigation: C.S.I. Team * Into the Wild: Survivor Camper * Challenges - Can you do it? (Problem-Based Learning) * Life and Its Wonders (Biology and Life Sciences) Module C: * Technology at Your Fingertips (Multi-Media) * Amazing Race: World Explorer * All the World's A Stage (Drama) * Portrait of an Artist (Fine Art) 2) Junior Leadership (Ages 15-16 years)- Adolescents can learn about leadership in an educational setting * First week of the session, campers will be partnered with a counsellor and will travel from class to class with them * Second week, campers will concentrate on a subject of their choice and work towards creating their own lesson and teach it to the other campers * Written evaluation of progress will be given at the end of the two week session * Available in Sessions 2, 3 & 4. Integration of special needs children may be accommodated and will be reviewed on an individual basis. Busing is available from Dundas, Ancaster, Burlington, and Oakville for an additional fee. | |||
