DescriptionThe Learning, Earning and Parenting program (LEAP) is an Ontario Works initiative, designed to support and assist young parents to complete high school as a first step to achieving economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their children by: Helping identify and overcome barriers to school attendance and academic success * Identifying and linking with employment related activities * Promoting children's development and enhancing parenting skills * Providing a variety of supports to teen parents including: school supplies, bus passes, child care, course costs, school clothing * The Learning, Earning and Parenting (LEAP) Program provides practical in-home support for pregnant and parenting teens to help them stay in school and complete their education. Financial support is available for school-related expenses.
LEAP is a mandatory program for 16-17 year-old teens who are on Ontario Works. The program is voluntary for teens who are 18-25 years old.
