Description & Services
DescriptionThe Seniors Intervention and Support Program (SISP) is recognized in the City of Hamilton as the leader in the area of abuse against older persons. Since 1987, the community has looked to this unique program to investigate complaints, be they financial, psychological, physical, or neglect. Anyone who feels alone, fearful of others, or worried about a friend can contact this office. On a confidential one-to-one manner the case manager will meet with the senior in a comfortable and private site and listen to their concerns and issues. It is up to the client what the next steps would be.

The case manager can act as an advocate to access entitled services, assist with the coordination of supports, and will lobby for improvements locally and provincially. The case managers will work with doctors, bank tellers, the police and the CCAC. The case managers can advise about subsidies, housing options, rights and entitlements offered through Canadian laws.
