DescriptionFrontier College Hamilton promotes literacy by working with a variety of community partners to provide support and programming for children and youth in the community.  
 
Volunteers spend 1 - 2 hours each week reading with a child, helping with homework or doing other literacy related activities. Programs are organized and coordinated through a student led Organizational Team and supported by a Frontier College staff person.  
 
Nationally Frontier College is a volunteer based literacy organization founded over 100 years ago * Frontier College supports children and families, community groups and organizations in high-needs areas through training, workshops, conferences and volunteer placements * Frontier College recruits and trains more than 5,000 volunteers each year to work with thousands of Canadians who want to learn
