Description & Services
DescriptionMulticultural Health Services provides the following services: 
 
* Advocacy, advice and support related to immigrant and refugee process for refugee claimants, refused refugee claimants and newcomers unable to access services in mainstream agencies(i.e. housing, clothing, information to Canadian systems, community resources and appropriate referrals, etc.) 
* Health services (advocacy with health professionals) 
* Community development - Health Education and Promotion: Latin American Women's group (A Mi Salud); Latin American Seniors' group (Third Youth); Albanian Exercise Group;  
* Written translations (health related issues) 
* Coordination of services and bridging with Ecumenical Support Committee for Refugees 
* Advocacy for issues related to Ontario Works, ODSP, EI and WSIB, OAS, CPP, CIC etc 
* Public education (refugee experience) 
* Counselling (English, Albanian and Spanish or with assistance of an interpreter) 
* Membership in refugee organizations 
* Booking appointments - new patients - or follow up, medical immigration and Spanish counselling 
* Fill out forms related to refugee and immigration process (sponsorship, permanent residence applications, humanitarian applications, refused refugees (pre-removal risk assessments) 
* Translation of ID documents for refugee claimants without legal representation 
* Referrals
