| Description & Services | ||||
| Description | Home child care agencies are licensed by the Ministry of Education. Families are provided with options for care and ongoing support. Child care is provided for fee paying and child care subsidy eligible families. Agencies recruit individual caregivers to provide care in their home for up to five children. The agency provides the administration, training, support, and quality assurance measures to caregivers. Caregiver hours are usually flexible and geared to parent need. Some shift coverage and weekend care may be provided. Caregivers may escort children to and from their school. Escort to the child's home is not provided. Caregivers (home child cares) connected with this program are located throughout the Hamilton community, and also in Burlington. Camp programs are offered in July, August and school breaks to accommodate school age children. This child care program presently participates in Raising the Bar. The presence of a Raising the Bar certificate is a sign that the program is committed to maintaining provincial regulatory standards as well as local community standards.
