DescriptionChild Care Information Hamilton is a free, confidential information and referral service provided by Community Information Hamilton, and proudly supports Hamilton Best Start. It receives funding support from the City of Hamilton and is a partner agency of Co-ordinated Access for Child Care in Hamilton. Child Care Information Hamilton is the first point of access to information for parents, caregivers, centre operators, early childhood educators, government programs, agencies and anyone with a child care question.  
 
The database includes all licensed child care programs, a registry of home-based child care and other child care related information. Child care resource materials are also available through Child Care Information Hamilton.  
 
Services include:
  • How to choose and monitor a child care program, either centre or home-based 
  • Free customized parent information package 
  • How to apply for child care subsidy 
  • Registry of Home-based Child Care 
  • Seasonal camps (March Break, Summer, Winter Break and Professional Activity Days) and children's programs 
  • How to connect with services for children with special needs 
  • Contact information and descriptions for child care services 
  • Contact information and descriptions for child-related organizations 
  • Highlights of the Day Nurseries Act 
  • Information about Ontario Early Years Centres and toy lending services  
  • Information about Parenting and Family Literacy Centres 
  • How to start a child care service 
  • Caregiver support groups
