DescriptionChild Care Information Hamilton (CCIH), a program of Community Information Hamilton, is a free and confidential service providing information and referral on child care and child-related programs and services. It is the first point of access for parents, caregivers, child care centres, community service providers, government agencies and anyone else with a question.  
 
CCIH receives funding support from the City of Hamilton and proudly supports Hamilton Best Start. 
 
Information and services include: 
* How to choose and monitor a child care program, either centre or home-based 
* Free customized parent information package 
* How to apply for child care subsidy 
* Registry of Home-based Child Care 
* Seasonal camps (March Break, Summer, Winter Break and Professional Activity Days) and children's programs 
* How to connect with services for children with special needs 
* Contact information and descriptions for child care services 
* Contact information and descriptions for child-related organizations 
* Highlights of the Day Nurseries Act 
* Information about Ontario Early Years Centres and toy lending services  
* Information about Parenting and Family Literacy Centres 
* How to start a child care service 
* Caregiver support groups 
* Staff education and professional requirements 
* Comprehensive child care website
