DescriptionDomiciliary Hostels (Residential Care Facilities) provide 24 hour supervision and guidance with the activities of daily living.  
 
Under the City's subsidy program, RCF (Residential Care Facility) Case Workers administer the subsidy for eligible tenants through subsidy agreements with 60 RCF operators. The case workers also follow up on complaints, and provide consultation and support to RCF tenants, operators and staff. 
 
The Unit provides support to homeless families and individuals through purchase of service agreements with 13 shelters. Hostel workers assist hostel operators and residents, with applications for social assistance and referrals to other services in the community. 
 
Four Ontario Works case managers provide income, employment and housing supports to chronically homeless individuals.
