DescriptionServices provided by SACHA include: 
 
* Provides support and advocacy to adults (16 years old and over), primarily women who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives (childhood and/or adult sexual abuse, including sexual/workplace harassment) 
* Provide 24-hour telephone support and appropriate referrals to male survivors of sexual assault 
* Provide information and education to the community about violence against women 
* Provide in-service training to health care and social service professionals, police and community groups and organizations on violence against women related issues 
* Offer specialized outreach and supports to women from racialized communities 
* Work with community institutions and organizations to provide better care for survivors of sexual violence and harassment 
* Work toward the elimination of all forms of sexual violence 
 
Major Services: 
 
For women 16 years old and over, who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives. 
 
SACHA provides the following services: 
 
* Provision of a 24-hour telephone support line, seven days a week. The crisis line is staffed by trained volunteers. Male and female adult survivors (16 years of age and older) and family/friends of survivors are able to access the support line 
* Accompaniment to the hospital or police station for women 
* Individual counselling and support groups for women who are survivors of rape, sexual assault, incest, childhood sexual assault and/or sexual/workplace harassment 
* Community outreach and programming for women from diverse racial and cultural communities 
* Language-specific support groups for women whose first language is not English or French 
* Public Education sessions on topics related to sexual violence and woman abuse. Education sessions presented to high school, college and university students, community groups/agencies and professionals 
* Referrals to other services as required 
 
Support of Abused Older Person: 
The entire range of support services is available to women of all ages * Counsellors will arrange off-site appointments in more conveniently located locations (excluding home visits) 
 
Intervention with Alleged Abuser: (service not provided)
