DescriptionEarly Words is responsible for three Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services programs. The Preschool Speech and Language Initiative is the umbrella organization of Hamilton's speech and language service for young children. Parents, childcare providers and other professionals working with young children can call for information about children's speech and language development and workshops. Parents can directly refer their child by calling and pressing "0". 
 
The Infant Hearing Program serves Hamilton, Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk and Niagara. Services include infant hearing screening, audiological services and communication intervention for young children with significant permanent hearing loss. 
 
The Blind-Low Vision Early Intervention Program serves Hamilton, Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk and Niagara. Services include home visiting and family support services for young children who are blind or have low vision.
