| Description | The Arthritis Society provides community based physiotherapy, occupational therapy and social work services to persons with a diagnosis of arthritis. Major services include: * To provide comprehensive assessment of the arthritis client taking into consideration physical, functional and emotional abilities * To educate clients with arthritis, and their families, regarding arthritis treatment and disease management * To provide encouragement and support to the client in establishing and achieving realistic treatment goals * To assist the client in achieving these goals * To work closely with other medical/community professionals treating the client * To inform clients of appropriate available resources in the community and facilitate access to them * Literature about arthritis is available upon request from the Society's office * Arthritis Self Management Program; Chronic Pain Management Workshop; Public Forums Major fundraising events inlcude: The Walk to Fight Arthritis (June) Door to Door Campaign (September) Jewels and Jeans (November) | |||
