DescriptionThe Schizophrenia Society of Ontario's mission is to improve the quality of life for families affected by mental illness * Family is defined by caring relationships between people with schizophrenia, their relatives, friends, and other individuals in a supportive capacity. Services in Hamilton/Niagara include: 
 
* Monthly support group meetings for families of people with a mental illness in Hamilton and St Catharines. Call for meeting information 
* Information and referral by phone 
* Educational presentations for schools, workplaces, and groups 
* Educational and awareness events throughout the year
