| Description | Lynwood Charlton Centre is an accredited children's mental health centre providing residential and day treatment services for children and youth 0-18 years of age who are experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural challenges. RESIDENTIAL SERVICES Charlton Avenue Residence - residential treatment program providing a live-in therapeutic milieu for 8 adolescent girls aged 12-18 COMPASS Day Treatment / Section 23 Classrooms - two specialized treatment/education program serving co-ed students 13-18 years of age whose social, emotional and psychiatric challenges have seriously interfered with their learning and their ability to meet potential within mainstream and specialized school based settings * located in a a stand-alone facility in central Hamilton, the program is staffed by Child and Youth Work Clinicians, an art therapist and and a Special Education Teacher * goals of service include the earliest possible integration of the youth in a community school or vocational program and reduction of the risk for admission/ readmission to hospital or community based residential centres * service model allows for transitional outreach to wait list youth, supported transitioning to community schools and summer programming | |||
