DescriptionThe Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O.) serves children, teens and their families of all faiths through our Athletic Programs, Leadership Training and Outdoor Education, as well as Residential and Summer Camp opportunities. Many of these programs are inclusive of children with disabilities and those who are from financially disadvantaged households.

Crusader Athletics is the C.Y.O.'s community wide, after school, health and fitness, sports and recreation program that serve over 25,000 boys and girls, ages 6 to 13 years old. Our five core athletic programs include: Girls’ and Boys’ Flag Football, Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ and Boys’ Volleyball, Spring & Fall Cross-country and Track & Field. Central to these activities is the emphasis on participation, sportsmanship, skill development and above all - fair play.

C.Y.O. operates two summer camps: Camp Brébeuf, a residential camp, located in Rockwood and C.Y.O. day camps, which include Camp Marydale and Urban Hoops Basketball Camp. Children of any denomination are accepted at the camps. Camps include integrated programs for children with special needs.

The C.Y.O. offers leadership training programs and opportunities for teens and young adults. The goal of these programs is to help our young people rise above the challenges they may face and prepare them for the physical and mental opportunities of becoming a young leader in our community.

Marydale Park is the Catholic Youth Organization’s next and most exciting community service project. Marydale Park will open in spring 2012 and will be the province’s first completely barrier free, outdoor recreation centre. The park will feature barrier-free recreational amenities for the 91,000 Hamiltonians that have some type of health condition or disability that limits the amount of activity they can do. Marydale Park will provide everyone with the opportunity to enjoy outdoor recreation and camping regardless of their abilities.
