| Description | Victoria Gardens is a fully accredited, long term care home (LTC) for up to 76 residents. The centre is a modern three story building, with dining rooms and lounges on each floor. For the safety of our residents, all exterior doors are alarmed and locked and residents rooms are equipped with call bells. It is fully air conditioned and equipped with a sprinkler system as well as providing whirlpool tubs and electric chair lifts on each floor. Residents at Victoria Gardens live with cats Max, Bailey and Jade, as well as a variety of birds and rabbits. Family pets are encouraged to come and visit and interact. We support and encourage residents to personalize their own living space with personal belongings such as pictures, favourite chairs and objects of affection. Basic services include: * Registered nursing care 24 hours 7 days a week * Comprehensive Medical Care * Social, Recreational & Physical Activity Programs * Rehabilitation Services * Palliative Care * Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy * Podiatry Care * Dental Services * Audiology Services * Housekeeping and Laundry Services * In Home Hairdressing services Residents are charged for the following services: private cable, personal phone line, newspaper delivery, hairdressing services and preferred room accommodation. Dietary services are supervised by a registered dietitian and nutritional goals are established for each resident. Dietary services provide nutritious snacks, alternative meal selections, special ethnic and cultural diets, dietary supplements, and an assisted feeding program. Resident Council meetings are held monthly by residents. Issues, concerns and information about the home are discussed and addressed. Minutes are taken by staff and posted. There is also a Family Council Group which meets quarterly. Recreation programs are offered seven days a week in the home as well as in the community. Sample programs include picnics, exercise classes, pet visits, bingo, church services, afternoon socials and inter generational programs. All admissions are accepted through the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC). | |||
